Meet the Nissan Sparky – a project from two Nissan engineers from the brand's Technical Center in Stanfield, Arizona.

Roland Schellenberg and Arnold Moulinet have used parts and details from the LEAF EV and the Frontier (aka Navara in some markets) to build this strange and nice looking vehicle. It uses the truck bed of the Frontier and the body of the electric car and is a two-seat machine, which can be described as a modern electric ute.

“I needed a project for a team building activity so we can bring the team together. We had a need for a truck. Something to drive around, a shop truck” comments Schellenberg.

Moulinet adds: “After he (Schellenberg) told us it was going to be the LEAF that we would redo, I went home and stayed up till like four in the morning making all kinds of designs for what would work”.
