Holden Special Vehicles (HSV) has taken the wraps off the limited edition GTS Maloo.

Designed to set a "new benchmark in the performance market," the GTS Maloo follows in the footsteps of the GTS sedan and adopts an aggressive front fascia with LED daytime running lights and honeycomb mesh grille inserts. The ute has also been equipped with a remote locking hard tonneau cover, a four-tailpipe exhaust system and 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels.

The company didn't release many interior photos but the cabin comes nicely equipped with sport seats, a sport steering wheel and alloy pedals. The car also has auxiliary gauges, faux carbon fiber trim and a MyLink infotainment system with GPS navigation.

Power is provided by a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine that develops 585 PS (430 kW) and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque. It can be connected to either a six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic transmission.

Speaking of performance, the GTS Maloo features a sport-tuned suspension, high-performance brakes and a limited slip differential.  There's also a torque vectoring system which promises to reduce understeer.

Production will be limited to 250 units - 240 for Australia and 10 for New Zealand - and the first deliveries are scheduled for November.
