Subaru Australia is introducing a special edition BRZ which comes with several cosmetic upgrades.

Sales of the BRZ in Australia are decreasing so Subaru wants to offset this trend with a special BRZ promising to provide upgrades worth 9,000 AUD but only at an 3,500 AUD extra cost. Prices start at 40,650 AUD and in return the BRZ features a rear diffuser, stripes package, STI-branded 17-inch rims along with matte black front spoiler, rear spoiler lip and side skirts. Additional STI goodies include a start button, a short-throw gearshift assembly for the manual models and a knob for the automatic.

This special edition is based on the 2015MY BRZ so it benefits from bigger stainless steel tailpipe tips, revised suspension dampers and other minor mechanical tweaks. Power comes from the same naturally-aspirated four-cylinder 2.0-liter boxer engine packing 200 PS (147 kW) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque sent to the rear wheels through either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

Already available on order, the 2015 Subaru BRZ special edition (AU-spec) will start reaching customers in November.
