Dodge has announced plans to shave off no less than 15,000 USD as a desperate move to get rid of excess Viper inventory.

Several days ago Dodge introduced the 2015MY Viper and now they are taking measures to clear stock which currently stands at more than 600 units. All these cars benefit from a huge 15,000 USD price cut and from now on clients will be able to buy the Viper from all Dodge dealers across the United States. Moreover, owners of 2013MY or 2014MY SRT Vipers will receive a 15,000 USD coupon if they decide to trade in their cars on another one or to purchase an additional vehicle.

Those 600+ unsold cars represent a massive 434-day supply and about one third are 2013MY Vipers. Let's not forget production was stopped a couple of times so the inventory would have been much bigger if they kept making cars. The 2015 model year Viper SRT has returned to the Dodge name with an extra 5 bhp and will be available on order later this month but production of the high-end GTS and TA trims will be temporarily suspended.

It is believed the 2016MY Dodge Viper SRT will receive another power increase compared to the current 645 bhp (485 kW) and chances are Dodge will also introduce the convertible body style.
