Renault Samsung has revealed the SM7 Nova sedan, a facelifted version of the current SM7.
The producer says "the SM7 Nova is targeting customers that are not afraid to make a statement and confident with standing out".
While there are no dramatic changes, the vehicle comes with some visual and technical tweaks. It now has a more muscular look thanks to more expressive front grille and hood, accented by a double character line. On the back changes are limited to new quad chrome-tipped exhausts.
Inside, the SM7 Nova offers “the industry's first smart mirroring” system that uses Wi-Fi to connect mobile devices of passengers with the car's infotainment system. It will be fitted as standard on all SM7 Novas.
Power is provided by two V6 petrol units with displacement of 2.5-liters and 3.5-liters respectively. The Nissan-sourced VQ25 has 193 PS (142 kW) and 243 Nm (179 lb-ft) of torque, while the 3.5-liter V6 develops 262 PS (192 kW) and 330 Nm (243 lb-ft) of torque.
Renault Samsung officials have also announced they are looking at other engine options like the introduction of a diesel powertrain, because "the Renault Nissan Alliance, which the carmaker is a part of, has plenty of diesel engines to choose from".
Already on sale in South Korea, the luxury sedan is 400,000 won to 800,000 won (390-780 USD) more expensive compared to the outgoing model depending on the trim level.
