Volkswagen UK is introducing a limited-run Caddy Black Edition which will be available from October until December.

The Caddy is about to receive a facelift but Volkswagen has decided to roll out a special edition of the current model which will come with a deep black pearlescent paint. It's based on the Highline trim in short wheelbase panel van form and is billed as being "the most luxurious Caddy ever built" thanks to a generous list of equipment including exclusive black leather & Alcantara upholstery and leather-wrapped steering wheel & gear knob.

It has also received adjustable lumber support and storage compartments for both front seats which are also height, reach and rake adjustable. The Caddy Black Edition has electric front windows, climatic manual AC, rear parking sensors and electrically adjustable & heated mirrors. On the outside it can be distinguished by exclusive 17-inch Budapest wheels, unique chromed radiator grille and bright polished silver roof rails also new on this model.

On sale starting October 1 until the end of the year, the Volkswagen Caddy Black Edition will come exclusively with a four-cylinder, 1.6-liter TDI engine rated at 102 PS (75 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. It benefits from hill hold assist, energy recuperation and start/stop system to help the vehicle return 55.4 mpg UK (46.1 mpg US or 5.1 liters / 100 km) in the combined cycle with 134 g/km of CO2 emissions.

Prices start at 17,860 GBP (excluding VAT) and all units will come with a dynamic suspension setup reducing the ride height by 27mm. Volkswagen says the Caddy Black Edition packs 2,150 GBP of additional equipment compared to the Highline trim and customers can save 1,350 GBP.
