Skoda has released the first image depicting the 2015 Fabia's interior cabin.

Last week after a rather agonizing series of teasers, Skoda finally showed us the third-gen Fabia but only from the outside and today we get a first glimpse of the interior. As you can see, it's the typical Skoda configuration of a simple yet functional layout incorporated into an interior cabin which has been stretched by 8mm to 1674mm, even though the car is actually 8mm shorter than the model it replaces.

As a result of the expanded cabin, elbow room has increased by 21mm to 1401mm at the front and by 2mm to 1386mm at the back. Skoda says the third generation Fabia hatchback comes with the biggest trunk in its class, standing at 330 liters which makes it 15 liters more spacious than before. Fold down the rear seats and the loading capacity jumps to an impressive 1,150 liters. The loading area is 960mm (+20mm) wide while the rear access width has a 1098mm width and is matched with a low sill height for easy loading/unloading.

Boasting up to seventeen “Simply Clever” features including an ice scraper in the fuel filler cap, the overhauled Fabia is Skoda’s first model to come with MirrorLink technology. The system allows drivers to control smartphone apps from the infotainment screen via a USB connection. Other new features include a multimedia device cradle in the center console, bigger storage for bottles in the rear doors and glove compartment, parking ticket holder on the left-side A-pillar and two (optional) hooks in the trunk.

Additional details can be found in the attached press release.
