A prototype for the upcoming Mercedes AMG GT has been caught on video doing its latest round of testing on Nurburgring. However, this latest model appears to be showing some minor variations compared to what we have seen before.

There have been suggestions that this could be uber Black Series variant of the range, although we're not so sure.

The rear wing is the most apparent tell-tale sign. It now appears to be fixed to the rear of the body and is slightly modified in comparison to the retractible style we have seen in the past. Looking at the front, the massive air intakes appear to have grown in size. Something we would expect to deal with the additional power and heat in the Black Series version.

Despite these initial pieces of evidence, the timing contradicts the probability as Mercedes usually produces the Black Series at least 2 years after the production of standard model. Therefore, considering this said model is only set to be released in 2015, development of the black series is unlikely to have advanced to such a testing stage yet.

Power of the standard model will likely to arrive courtesy of the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine and will produce 510 PS (375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. A range topping Black Series will reportedly get a tuned version pumping up to up to 580 PS to the wheels.

Full official details are expected to be released in the coming weeks ahead of the unveiling at the Paris Motor Show in October.
