Land Rover has launched the limited edition Defender Africa Edition.

The producer says the vehicle is inspired by Africa and celebrates “over 67 years of boldly going where no other vehicle has gone before”.

With only 50 units to be available worldwide, the limited edition is finished in Santorini black and features black seat covers with red piping, black allow wheels and a Bluetooth telephone connection. A snorkel, a roof rack, a rear step, bumper caps and a front protection bar will be available as an optional equipment.

Offered as Defender 90 and Defender 110 models, the Africa Edition is powered by the familiar 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration takes 15.8 seconds, while the top speed reaches 145 km/h (90 mph).
