A brand new Audi R8 has recently burst into flames on a busy road in the city of Bangkok, Thailand.
There are no details as to what caused the accident, but it is reported the engine compartment first caught fire. No one was injured, but the car seems like a total loss. Judging by the pictures, almost everything, from the B-pillar back, is heavily damaged.
The current R8 went on sale in June 2007 and most recent reports suggest a successor will be launched next year. It will likely adopt a more dynamic design and feature a digital instrument cluster, a digital rearview mirror and an upgraded MMI infotainment system. Engine options are rumored to carryover with minor modifications to increase their output by approximately 25 bhp (19 kW).
