Renovo Motors has unveiled their new Renovo Coupe at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
Described as the "first all-electric American supercar," the Renovo Coupe is based on the Shelby American CSX 9000 but features revised styling, a beefier frame and a retuned suspension.
Power is provided by twin sequential axial flux motors which develop more than 500 bhp (373 kW) and 1000 lb-ft (1354 Nm) of torque. This enables the 3,250 lb (1474 kg) coupe to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 120 mph (193 km/h). When the battery is depleted, it can be recharged in approximately five hours or 30 minutes with a rapid charger.
According to Renovo CEO Christopher Heiser, "Renovo Motors sought to create an aspirational vehicle that demonstrates the performance, control, and excitement that is possible with EV technology. We have poured our passion and innovation into the Coupe in an effort to deliver a truly amazing driving experience, and we're honored to present the Production Prototype of our car at the Concours d'Elegance."
The company will begin accepting orders this weekend and the first models are scheduled to go into production in 2015.
