Seat has announced the availability of a Sub8 Performance pack for the Leon Cupra 280.

They had to change the Leon Cupra 280's status from being the fastest front-wheel drive car around the Nürburgring to the first FWD vehicle to lap the track in less than eight minutes (7:58.4) after the Megane Renaultsport 275 Trophy-R lapped the ‘Ring in 7:54.3.

Now, Seat is spicing up the already hot hatchback with an optional Sub8 Performance package which comes with 370mm disc brakes (+30mm) with Brembo calipers, bespoke 19-inch black or orange alloy wheels along with body-colored side skirts - all for 2,025 GBP.

Interestingly, Seat specifies a 460 GBP Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tire set is also available and is 540 GBP more affordable than what Renault is asking for the Megane Renaultsport 275 Trophy. Also on offer are 1,250 GBP heated front bucket seats with a one-piece head restraint and wrapped around in Alcantara with white accents and embossed "CUPRA" logo. These come bundled with a Winter Pack including headlight washer system with heated front washer nozzles.

Lastly, Leon Cupra 280 customers can customize their car with Black-Line or White-Line exterior color packs priced each at 500 GBP, with additional hues to be added in the future.

We remind you that a couple of months ago Leon Cupra chassis development manager Sven Schawe hinted a lightweight Leon Cupra 280 could be launched to reclaim the FWD 'Ring title.
