A test group with SsangYong X100 prototypes has been caught on camera by our spy photographers in southern Europe.

Mahindra-controlled SsangYong is putting the finishing touches on an entry-level crossover which will sit below the Korando. Scheduled to go on sale in 2015, the model will be offered in Europe and will fit in the highly competitive B-segment crossover where it will have to face the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur among others.

Still wearing a full body camouflage, the X100 will likely take styling cues from the recently unveiled XLV concept and is expected to ride on an entirely new platform. Power will come from newly developed four-cylinder 1.6-liter gasoline and diesel engines featuring start/stop technology and teamed up with a standard 6-speed manual or an optional 6-speed CVT.

It is believed the SsangYong X100 will be introduced as early as January 2015, with sales to commence a few months later.
