Audi introduced the A2 concept nearly three years ago but we haven't heard much about the model since rumors emerged that it was axed over fears it would cost too much. Fast forward to today and Autobild is reporting the model is back in the cards and set to launched in 2018.

According to their sources, the model will adopt the A2Q moniker - because Alfa Romeo has scooped up the Q2 and Q4 trademarks - and be based on the MQB platform. It is also slated to feature an electric powertrain that could enable it to travel up to 500 km (310.6 miles) on a single charge.

The magazine is also reporting Audi is developing an electric version of their upcoming Q6. It will reportedly be launched in 2017 and boast an impressive range of 700 km (434 miles).
