The 2016 Mercedes MLC 63 AMG has been spied showing new details while undergoing an airbag misuse test.

Stripped of its heavy front camouflage, we can see the model the model will have an aggressive front fascia with a single bar grille and massive air intakes. The model also been equipped with aerodynamic side skirts, massive alloy wheels and a four-tailpipe exhaust system. Of course, the real highlight is the crossover's dynamic roofline which echoes the BMW X6 M.

While a lot of upcoming AMG variants are expected to use the company's twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, the MLC 63 AMG is slated to use the familiar twin-turbo 5.5-liter V8 that produces 525 PS (386 kW) and 699 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque.

The Mercedes MLC is expected to be introduced in third quarter of 2015, so the MLC63 AMG should follow a few months later.
