An interesting video from YouTube is showing the Parking Assistant system of the BMW i3 in action.
Designed for big cities, the electric vehicle could park itself without any operations from the driver needed. The system uses a radar, mounted on the right side, which scans for big enough parking spots. When the right place is found, the car does everything by itself.
The guy from the video above, the Romanian rally driver Vali Porcisteanu, demonstrates the system in a quite funny way. He activates the Parking Assistant and jumps off the car, while it is already performing the maneuver. As it turns out, if the button is pushed and stuck, the EV still parks itself.
