Following yesterday's teaser, BMW has released images and footage with their "drift mob show" organized in Cape Town, South Africa.

After the teaser image released on Tuesday some of us hoped to see the M2 or at least a hotter variant of the M235i Coupe but in the end it was just a sneak peek of BMW's "drift mob show" which took place in Cape Town. Five M235i coupes in Melbourne Red were used on the film set and behind the wheel of all cars were experienced stunt drivers like Rhys Millen and Samuel Hübinette.

In what could be described as synchronized drifting at a large roundabout in South Africa's second most populous city, the star of the "drift mob show" was BMW's current range-topping 2-Series, the M235i Coupe powered by an inline-six TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter engine developing 326 PS (240 kW) and 450 Nm (322 lb-ft). It runs the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.8 seconds when equipped with the optional 8-speed automatic gearbox and tops out at 155 mph (250 km/h).

The M235i Coupe will be dethroned towards the end of 2015 or early 2016 by a fully-fledged M2 which is rumored to deliver as much as 380 PS (279 kW) from a turbo inline-six.
