Maxi-Tuner from Germany has developed an upgrade program for the 2014 MINI Cooper S.
On sale since this spring, the all-new MINI is already on the agenda of many tuners, including Maxi-Tuner who decided to work on the hotter S variant. In its standard guise, the 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine develops 192 PS (141 kW) and 280 Nm (206 lb-ft) but after the tuner worked its magic output was bumped to 220 PS (162 kW) and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft).
The significant power gain was obtained by implementing a chip-tuning box and a sports exhaust made from stainless steel. For more money, Maxi-Tuner is offering a valve exhaust system and a cup exhaust oriented for track use. Other goodies include 18-inch Schmidt Shift alloy wheels wrapped around in Goodyear 215/35 R18 tires along with lowering springs provided by H&R.
The tuner hasn't released a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time but we remind you the stock Cooper S needs 6.7 seconds while top speed was increased from the series 146 mph (235 km/h) to more than 155 mph (250 km/h).
As far as pricing is concerned, the power boost will set you back 899 EUR while the basic exhaust costs 699 EUR. The wheel set is an extra 1,498 EUR and can be matched with the lowering springs priced at 279 EUR.
