German media is reporting the highly anticipated Mercedes-AMG will finally be revealed online on September 9.

Only by looking at the sheer number of photos and related links attached to this article you will understand for how long Mercedes-Benz has been teasing us with the AMG GT. The waiting game is about to end as a rumor coming from a reliable source refers to a September 9 online reveal, followed by a public launch a month later at the Paris Motor Show.

Mercedes and AMG have already provided extensive details about what they describe as being the ultimate driver's car. At its heart will be a newly developed V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine which will be offered in two states of tune: 510 PS (375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) in the GT-S and 462 PS (340 kW) in the GT scheduled to go on sale later on.

The AMG GT-S is estimated to run the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in less than 3.9 seconds before topping out at 194 mph (312 km/h). It will ride on 19-inch front / 20-inch rear alloy wheels wrapped around in 265/35 front and 295/30 rear Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires tires or optional softer cup rubbers. GT-S buyers will be rewarded with an E-diff while the lesser GT will pack a limited slip differential and 19-inch wheels for both axles.

Mercedes and AMG have already showed us most of the interior cabin and we also have a pretty accurate idea of the exterior after looking at so many spy shots & videos and teaser images. In addition, the engine's sound was also revealed in a previous short clip so it's time to finally see the car which will serve as a smaller and more affordable SLS sans the gullwing doors.
