Nissan has revealed the sporty Note Nismo in first official pictures.
Slated to go on sale this fall, the vehicle is the fifth model of the Japanese brand to be offered with the Nismo treatment. It will be available in two versions – Nismo and Nismo S, both powered by a tuned petrol unit mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Official technical details are still not available.
Visually the car differs from the standard Note with its custom front grille, modified front and rear bumpers, side sill protectors and roof spoiler and the red caps of the electronic folding side mirrors.
Nissan says the Nismo team has also tweaked the car in terms of tyres, suspension and aerodynamics, while the hotter Nismo S modification will run slightly lower on the road. Custom sports seats will be standard for the Nismo S and offered as an option for the Nismo, while special Recaro seats are also available.
Nismo CEO Shoichi Miyatani said: “Celebrating Nismo’s 30th anniversary, we are planning to expand the number of models available in our road-car lineup. The Note Nismo we introduced today is truly symbolic to the Nismo brand in that it represents the fusion between motorsports that’s embedded in Nismo’s DNA and the success of the Note as a mass production vehicle”.
Further details about the Note Nismo are expected in the coming weeks.
