Development work continues on the Toyota Auris Cross as our spies have snapped new pictures of the upcoming model.

Toyota has remained tight-lipped about the car but is expected to be off-road inspired variant that will appeal crossover buyers. As a result, the prototype has an increased ride height and larger alloy wheels.

Specifications remain a mystery but previous reports have suggested the model will be powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 130 hp (97 kW) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque. Front-wheel drive will likely be standard but all-wheel could be optional.

Nothing is official but the tentatively named Auris Cross is expected to be introduced sometime next year.
