A fully disguised prototype of the Mercedes-Benz ML Coupe (aka MLC) has been caught on camera yet again.

Mercedes-Benz announced its intentions to launch a belated BMW X6 competitor in April at the Beijing Motor Show with the confusingly named Concept Coupe SUV. That car will morph into a toned down production version next year and will likely be badged "ML Coupe" (or "MLC"). Although still dressed in a full body camouflage, we easily notice the ML Coupe's silhouette clearly echoes the X6 with just about the same bulky rear end.

Hiding underneath the controversial shape will be the M-Class (set to receive a facelift) so expect an almost identical engine lineup, topped by an AMG variant with the same twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter rated at 525 PS (386 kW) and 699 Nm (516 lb-ft). The ML 63 AMG is also offered with 558 PS (410 kW) and 758 Nm (560 lb-ft) when configured with the optional performance package but we don't know at the moment whether the kit will also be offered in the ML Coupe to make it a more worthy adversary for the forthcoming second-gen X6 M.

Mercedes-Benz will probably decide to show us the ML Coupe / MLC in January 2015 at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit and the model should go on sale in the third quarter.
