Mitsubishi delayed the U.S. launch of the Outlander PHEV until the fall of 2015 but the wait could be worth it as executives have confirmed the crossover will be "completely different" than the current model.

Speaking to Autoblog, Mitsubishi North America Public Relations Manager Alex Fedorak confirmed the model will feature revised styling that will likely draw cues from recent concepts such as the GC-PHEV and XR-PHEV. Besides the styling tweaks, we can expect an upgraded interior and a more refined hybrid system.

In related news, Fedorak revealed we can expect a "sleek, aerodynamic reskin" of the Mirage for the 2016 model year.
