On sale since 2005, the third generation Punto is in dire need of a replacement but Fiat is stubbornly sticking to the outdated model by applying a third facelift which has killed the car's own identity. It's not known at this moment whether Fiat will sell it in Europe but it doesn't really matter as the Italians should really focus on coming up with an all-new model since segment rivals are far more advanced.

A report issued back in May said the fourth-gen Punto will be out in 2016 but as part of the ever expanding "500" lineup. It is believed the car will wear the 500 Plus moniker and sold only as a five-door hatchback. It will be longer and wider than the standard 500 and will be built in Tychy, Poland.
