According to reports out of The Netherlands, a "large part" of Spyker's assets are being auctioned off to settle a tax debt.
Details are limited but Troostwijk Auctions is hosting a "foreclosure auction of luxury sports cars, test vehicles, prototypes, racing cars" and 85 Audi V8 engines. A viewing is scheduled to take place at Spyker's headquarters on July 25th and the auction is slated to end on July 28th at 14:00 CET.
The company declined to list all the items up for sale but the pictures show race cars, a C8 Aileron, a C8 Aileron Spyder, a C12 Zagato and a Peking-to-Paris concept - among other things.
When reached for comment, a Spyker representative told Autoblog.nl they have an outstanding debt with tax authorities and it is large enough that a seizure and auction of assets was "inevitable." However, Spyker CEO Victor Muller told them the issue has been resolved and the auction will not take place. Despite this, the auction company said the auction hasn't been canceled and will go ahead as planned.
