The upcoming MG GT was presented to select press in Longbridge, Birmingham ahead of a full September debut.

MG offered a preview of its GT (aka MG5 sedan) to select media last week in UK prior to an official launch scheduled for September at the Chengdu Auto Show in China. Set to go on sale in October, the MG GT will ride on the same platform as the MG5 hatchback and Roewe 350 and will likely be offered with a 109 bhp 1.5-liter together with a turbocharged variant with 129 bhp (96 kW) as well as a rumored new 1.4-liter turbo mated to a dual-clutch 6-speed gearbox.

In terms of design, this is actually a sedan even though after looking at the back you would be tempted to say it's a fastback while some of the front fascia styling cues will also be implemented in the CS, the company's first ever crossover. The MG GT will be offered with 16-inch alloy wheels and will allegedly feature a semi-independent rear suspension although this hasn't been confirmed yet.

Pricing is rumored to kick off at 120,000 yuan and rise to 150,000 yuan for the fully-loaded model.
