The 2015 Mercedes C-Class has finally gone into production at the company's Tuscaloosa plant in the United States.

Set to go on sale in the United States and Canada this fall, the model closely echos the European variant but only be offered with two engines including:

  • A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 241 bhp (179 kW) and 229 lb-ft (310 Nm) torque
  • A twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 329 bhp (245 kW) and 354 lb-ft (479 Nm) torque

In a statement, Mercedes' Head of the Tuscaloosa plant said "Many of our Team Members have spent weeks and months in Germany getting to know the C-Class and the technologies associated with this product. Thanks to our highly qualified and motivated team, we are optimally prepared to write the next chapters of our success story 'made by Mercedes-Benz in Alabama'."
