McLaren has released a teaser image of a new "track-focused" car that will be introduced later this month at Goodwood Festival of Speed.

McLaren hasn’t revealed the identity of the model but most likely we are dealing with the GT3 variant of the 650S Coupe. The attached darkened teaser image shows the silhouette of a race car equipped with typical McLaren boomerang-shaped headlights and a large rear wing. It has a significantly lowered sports suspension and comes equipped with Pirelli tires and among the sponsors will be Mobil 1 and Tag Heuer.

It will follow the footsteps of its predecessor, the 12C GT3, but it will likely end up being more expensive so expect a price tag higher than 325,000 GBP. The vehicle will probably be offered to international GT teams and will provide more power wrapped around in a more aerodynamic body kit as it will carry most of the upgrades brought to the 650S over the now defunct 12C.

The McLaren 650S GT3 will be shown on June 27 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Other models on stage are going to be the 650S Coupe and Spider, P1 along with the classic M7C. 2009 Formula 1 world champion Jenson Button will also be there and will drive one of McLaren's recent models.
