While GM Europe's Vice President of Design, Mark Adams, has previously said the model will have a dynamic and sporty exterior, this prototype suggests the car will closely echo its predecessor and have a familiar shape. That won't appease everyone but previous reports have suggested the car could borrow cues from the Monza concept.

Opel has remained relatively tight-lipped about specifications but it could use variety of lightweight components to reduce its weight by up to 100 kg (220 lbs). This will undoubtedly pay dividends at the pump and we should expect further fuel economy gains thanks to a new engine lineup that offers increased performance and efficiency.
