Peugeot has announced its plans to unveil a special edition model for its 208 GTi hot hatch during the Goodwood Festival of Speed, scheduled for June 27-29, by releasing a first teaser image. The 30th Anniversary version will be showcased in the Supercar & First Glimpse class of the event. Dynamic demonstrations of the car will be available in the Moving Motor Show showroom and on the Hillclimb on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

The teaser photo shows us the sports vehicle features the British flag under its front grille. Details are scarce at the moment but the French manufacturer says the debut of the car is similar to the RCZ R’s unveiling at the same place last year. Peugeot may be hinting at a small power increase of the 1.6-liter turbo unit powering the standard 208 GTi.

The regular 208 GTi has 200 PS (147 kW) and 275 Nm (203 lb-ft) of torque under the hood. This is enough for an 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in 6.8 seconds with a top speed of more than 225 km/h (140 mph).
