Lotus LMP has unveiled their new P1/01 race car at the 24 hours of Le Mans.

Lotus LMP has unveiled their new P1/01 race car at the 24 hours of Le Mans.

Designed to compete in the LMP1 L privateer racing class, the car features a carbon composite monocoque chassis and a black and gold livery. The model weighs 850 kg (1874 lbs) and has an AER twin-turbo V6 engine that is connected to a six-speed sequential transmission.

The car will enter competition later this year at the 6 Hours of the Circuit of the Americas in September. It will be driven by Christijan Albers, Christophe Bouchut, Thomas Holzer, Pierre Kaffer and James Rossiter.
