Ford has unveiled their 2015 Mustang GT pace car for the Quicken Loans 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at the Michigan International Speedway on June 15th.

Ford has unveiled their 2015 Mustang GT pace car for the Quicken Loans 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at the Michigan International Speedway on June 15th.

Set to be driven by Ford President of The Americas Joe Hinrichs, the car has been equipped an LED light bar, racing livery and special decals that celebrate the Mustang's 50th anniversary. The car also features a 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops more than 420 bhp (313 kW) and 390 lb-ft (528 Nm) of torque.

In a statement, Ford director of U.S marketing Chantel Lenard said “With its proximity to the Motor City, Michigan International Speedway is a showcase for the auto industry. To have Mustang – a brand born of racing – in this special anniversary year, leading some of the world’s best drivers to the green flag, is special. We know our fans will enjoy seeing it out on the track.”
