At last year's Auto Shanghai in China we saw Suzuki's rather appealing Authentics concept but somehow the exciting looks got lost into translation as the production version looks like a bland mashup of other models. Wearing the "Alivio" moniker, the sedan's rear shows a lot of similarities with the 2014 Honda City while the rest of the design is quite generic and bland.

Styling aside, the Suzuki Alivio / Maruti Ciaz will likely be offered with a 120 bhp (89 kW) four-cylinder 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine along with a new 1.4-liter motor generating 100 bhp (74 kW). There could also be a Fiat-sourced 1.3-liter MultiJet diesel while gearbox offerings will include a manual and a CVT.

The model will allegedly ride on the same platform as the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross and will be manufactured by the Changan-Suzuki joint venture. It's set to go on sale in a short while and will cost between 90,000 and 140,000 yuan (about 14,400 and 22,400 USD).
