A long-time WCF reader has sent us several renders with his vision of McLaren's rumored mid-range P15.
He used McLaren's recipe for the 650S which includes the 12C's front combined with the P1’s rear but the overall result is much sleeker and attractive. The side profile also looks sexier while the sloped roofline giving the P15 a very attractive silhouette. We notice the mirrors are mounted high on the A-pillars while the quad exhaust is installed on the sides.
Carbon fiber was used for the front bumper and spoiler lip as well as for the side skirts and the lower part of the rear bumper. A set of oversized wheels with matching huge vented disc brakes further increase the P15's appeal.
Details about McLaren's mid-range model are scarce at the moment but the P15 will reportedly adopt a carbon fiber monocoque structure and is expected to use a hybrid powertrain developed in collaboration with Honda.
It is believed the P15 will be a regular production model and will have an estimated starting price of 500,000 USD once it goes on sale in 2017.
Special thanks go to Frederik for sending us the renders! Some of his work can be seen in the attached related links.
