A prototype of the 2015 Smart ForTwo was caught on camera while parked on a street in Dubai.
The vehicle was spotted alongside the already revealed C-Class Estate and the upcoming CLA Shooting Brake and should be introduced in the following months since Smart has been playing the teasing game for quite some time. The next-gen ForTwo will retain the RWD layout and will borrow 70 percent of its components from the all-new Renault Twingo.
Expect the overall length to remain unchanged at 2629mm while power will be provided by a naturally-aspirated 3-cylinder 1.0-liter SCe engine delivering 70 PS (51 kW) and 91 Nm (67 lb-ft) along with a 3-cylinder 0.9-liter TCe turbocharged unit with 90 PS (66 kW) and 135 Nm (100 lb-ft) of torque. Both engines are sourced from the 2014 Twingo and most likely so will be the five-speed manual transmission.
The new Smart ForTwo is scheduled to go on sale towards the end of the year in Europe, followed by United States in 2015. Look out for a public unveiling in October at the Paris Motor Show.
