It turns out the rumored special edition BRZ is a 2015MY Series.Blue that brings a series of minor tweaks.

While everyone's waiting for the BRZ to finally take the turbocharging route, Subaru has decided to improve the model's aerodynamic efficiency by reducing the coefficient drag from 0.28 to 0.27. It was possible thanks to a series of STI-branded bits and pieces such as the front, side and side-rear under spoilers along with underbody panels.

The special edition is based on the BRZ Limited model and can be visually distinguished by its red brake calipers combined with STI-branded 17-inch black alloys. Production will be capped at 1,000 units, with half of them set to receive WR Blue Pearl paint while the others are going to wear a Crystal White hue.

It comes exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox and has received leather and Alcantara upholstery with blue stitching accents and a black leather-covered steering wheel. The parking brake handle and gear shift lever were also dressed in black leather while a BRZ logo was applied onto the carpeted floor mats that benefit from blue stitching.

Subaru says all 2015MY BRZs feature revised suspension dampers, bigger stainless steel tailpipe tips, body-colored shark fin antenna and faux carbon fiber center dash panel.

Prices start at 26,490 USD for the base BRZ Premium and go all the way up to 30,285 USD for the BRZ Series.Blue special edition, with both price tags including the 795 USD destination charges. Sales of the limited-run BRZ will commence in July while the regular 2015MY BRZ is set to hit dealerships this summer.
