Caterham and Kamui Kobayashi have teamed up for a special edition of the Seven destined for Japan.

Only ten cars will be built and all of them are going to be based on the Seven 250 R version with power coming from a Ford Sigma 4-cylinder 1.6-liter engine delivering 125 bhp (93 kW). The motor will work together with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential and will enable the Seven to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill in 5.9 seconds before topping out at 122 mph (196 km/h).

What sets this limited-run Seven apart is the high-gloss black paint combined with matte black stripes and green lacquer on the carbon fiber front and rear wings. The single-seater also boasts an aluminum tonneau cover along with 13-inch black wheels and a polished chrome exhaust.

On the inside it hosts a carbon fiber dashboard signed by Kamui Kobayashi featuring green lacquer, while the sport seats are also built from the same lightweight material and come with green contrasting stitching. Other goodies include an anodized green gear knob, bespoke gauge inlays, a special green key and green Takata four-point harness.

The limited-run Caterham Seven Kamui Kobayashi special edition is available starting today in Japan from ¥6,000,000.
