Our spies have sent us an additional batch of photos with the Land Rover Discovery Sport planned for a 2015 market release.

This prototype was spotted testing at the Nürburgring and hiding its Discovery Vision-derived design beneath a full body camouflage. Land Rover says it's an "all-new premium compact SUV" which acts as a replacement for the Freelander and will pave the way for a whole new Discovery lineup that will encompass more than three models.

Larger than the aging Freelander, it is believed the model will utilize a stretched LR-MS platform sourced from the Evoque and will be powered by a new range of efficient four-cylinder Ingenium gasoline and diesel engines. The company's design director Gerry McGovern has characterized the 2015 Discovery Sport as "the most versatile and capable SUV in its segment."

The Discovery Sport will likely be revealed next March at the Geneva Motor Show before going on sale a few months later.
