A WCF reader has sent us a batch of spy shots with the Land Rover Discovery Sport programmed for a 2015 market launch.

The prototype was spotted in a parking lot in Kent, UK wearing a full body camouflage hiding what it is believed to be a design derived from the Discovery Vision concept. It will be the first model part of an entirely new Discovery family which will include more than three models. The model will serve as a replacement for the Freelander 2 and is programmed to come out sometime next year.

Chances are the Discover Sport will ride on a stretched version of the LR-MS architecture used by the Evoque and it will be powered by the new Ingenium lineup of four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines. Land Rover's design director Gerry McGovern has described the vehicle as being "the most versatile and capable SUV in its segment."

Special thanks go to Philippe for sending us the pics!
