Our spy photographers sent us another batch of pics with the 2015 MINI Cooper S Cabrio while testing on the Nürburgring.

The prototype was undergoing some last-minute testing as an official reveal is expected in the months to come with a design essentially the same as on the fixed roof S version which boasts a centrally-positioned dual exhaust arrangement. The main difference between the two will be in the retractable soft top, along with the third brake light on the tailgate and a small rear window.

Engine lineup will be carried over from the hatchback, including the Euro 6-compliant 4-cylinder 2.0-liter turbo for this S version which will generate 189 bhp (141 kW) and a peak torque of 206 lb-ft (279 Nm) or 221 lb-ft (299 Nm) with the overboost function activated.

In terms of performance, the Cooper S Cabrio will be a tad slower than its fixed roof sibling due to a slightly higher weight so the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) will take a few ticks of a second more than 6.7 seconds (automatic) / 6.8 seconds (manual) of the hatchback. Top speed should also go down a bit from 233 km/h (automatic) / 235 km/h (manual).

Sales of the Cooper S Cabrio are likely to kick off late 2014 / early 2015.
