Let’s say if you stand a Ferrari 458 Speciale up against the less powerful 458 Spider modification, you'd probably expect the first one to win with ease.

This video by Shmee150 filmed during the Vmax200 event in the UK proves that in addition to engine power other factors such as reaction time, tarmac quality, tires and perhaps some luck also play a big part in drag racing.

As you can see, after both cars lift off, the Spider is out in front and it stays that way for a while, until the Speciale manages to catch up at the end.
