Polestar's chief Hans Baath has shed some light about the company's upcoming Volvo-based products.

Polestar has increased its influence in Volvo by being directly involved in the development of Drive-E engines which by the way will not include any motors with a displacement larger than 2.0 liters. While Polestar's previous products were based on larger 6- and 8-cylinder engines, the new range of hot Volvos will rely on four-pot units and some of these models could actually receive a turbodiesel motor as Baath said "we absolutely see a performance diesel Polestar model in the future."

Interestingly, there will also be performance Volvos modified by Polestar which will have a Drive-E engine powering the front wheels while the rear axle will be motivated by an electric motor, granting these vehicles with a four-wheel drive arrangement. Lastly, Polestar's badge will be seen on other Volvo models, not just the V60 and S60.
