Volkswagen Group of America CEO Michael Horn has revealed some new details about the company's seven-seat crossover.
Speaking to Automobile Magazine at the New York Auto Show, Horn said the model will be a "true Volkswagen" that will set an "awesome benchmark” in its segment. The executive went on to say the model will have an emotional design and will feature class-leading innovations as well as high quality construction.
Besides talking about the crossover, Horn said the company will "gauge consumer and media reaction" to determine whether or not to offer 4Motion all-wheel drive on the US-spec Golf Sportwagen. While that doesn't sound overly optimistic, Volkswagen of America product manager Mark Gillies said "Looking at Subaru’s success with all-wheel drive in America, it could be a big opportunity for VW."
