Lexus recently introduced their new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine in the 2015 NX and a new report is indicating the mill will eventually find its way into the IS.

Details are limited but the engine produces 235 bhp (175 kW) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque which makes it significantly more powerful than the model's entry-level 2.5-liter V6 which churns out 204 bhp (152 kW) and 185 lb-ft (250 Nm) of torque. While it would be natural to assume the four-cylinder engine will replace the anemic V6, speculation suggests Lexus could keep the engine around as the entry-level offering.

There's no word on when the engine will arrive in the IS but Motor Trend says it could come in 2016.
