Peugeot has introduced the China-spec 408 Sedan at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show. European version likely to arrive later this year.

Peugeot has introduced the China-spec 408 Sedan at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show.

The 408 Sedan rides on the same new EMP2 platform as the 308 hatchback and will be manufactured in China by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture. It will be offered with a naturally-aspirated 1.6-liter engine delivering 117 bhp (82 kW) along with a turbocharged version packing 163 bhp (121 kW). Customers will also have the possibility of opting for a 1.8-liter NA with 140 bhp (104 kW).

It is a known fact a sedan version of the 308 will reach the European market as back in September our spies caught on camera a prototype testing on public roads. Peugeot could decide to sell the model as a 308 Sedan on the old continent and will likely show it in October at the Paris Motor Show prior to going on sale before the end of 2014.
