China's domestic automakers tend to overshadowed by their Japanese and German rivals but Haval made a splash at this year's Beijing Motor Show by unveiling their stylish Coupe concept.

Designed to preview the new Haval Sport, the Coupe is described as a cross-country performance SUV that has "sports car's genes" and a "limousine's comfort and luxury." Marketing hyperbole aside, the concept has an aggressive front fascia with a muscular grille and slender headlights. Moving further back, we can see a stylish green house, a sloping roofline and massive five-spoke alloy wheels.

The company was on coy on performance specifications but confirmed the model is a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle that has all-wheel drive and a fuel economy rating of 2.2 L/100km (106.9 mpg US / 128.4 mpg UK).
