Kia has introduced in New York this week the all-new 2015 Sedona mid-size MPV.

The minivan has been redesigned from the ground up and was turned into one of the most attractive models in its segment. It has received some crossover cues and comes with Kia's corporate tiger nose grille together with sweptback LED-infused headlights. The Koreans also installed an appealing rakish windscreen which makes the Sedona less boxy than other competitors.

The back is less exciting but we do notice the wraparound taillights and a tailgate-mounted spoiler. The interior puts practicality as top priority and comes with second-row lounge seats with a retractable leg rest. The seats have been covered in a "YES Essentials" fabric which not only repels stains but also offers anti-microbial / anti-static protection.

Since this is a family-oriented vehicle, Kia is offering a wide array of safety system such as Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Smart Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Vehicle Stability Management.

The only engine available is a newly developed V6 3.3-liter that generates 276 bhp (206 kW) and 248 lb-ft (335 Nm). It will serve as a replacement for the old V6 3.5-liter and will be mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Kia's revamped Sedona is slated to go on sale in the second half of 2014.
