Scion is introducing today at New York Auto Show the limited-run FR-S Release Series 1.0.

Back in January at NAIAS we saw Scion's FR-S Monogram Series and now for NYIAS they have prepared a Release Series which comes with a wide array of upgrades from Toyota Racing Development (TRD) and a Yuzu exterior paint scheme. Production will be capped at 1,500 units and all cars will wear a custom aerodynamic body kit which will include a rear spoiler and side fender garnish.

Also part of the package is TRD's quad exhaust setup and lowering springs while on the inside there's a Smart Key with Push Button Start. TRD installed a different steering wheel, shift knob, black seats with T-pattern and a unique logo cargo mat. FR-S Release Series 1.0 can be further distinguished by its HID headlamps with LED DRLs and a dual-zone automatic AC system.

Each car will feature an individual badge (1 of 1,500) inlayed on the brushed aluminum shifter surround plate. Customers will have to decide between a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic transmission featuring paddle shifters and Dynamic Rev Management technology.

Deliveries of the Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0 will commence this August at a starting price of less than 30,000 USD, excluding the 755 USD destination & handling fees.
