Volkswagen has announced the 2015 Golf GTI will be priced from $24,395 - excluding a destination and handling charge - when it goes on sale in the United States in June.

The entry-level GTI S features a sporty exterior with LED fog lights and 18-inch aluminum wheels. The model also has cloth sport seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and ambient interior lighting. Other highlights include heated front seats and a touchscreen infotainment system.

Moving up to the $27,395 GTI SE adds automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers and a power sunroof. The mid-level model also boasts a rearview camera, keyless entry, leather seats and a Fender premium audio system.

Last but not least, the range-topping GTI Autobahn starts at $29,595 and features all the aforementioned equipment as well as a 12-way power driver's seat, an automatic climate control system and GPS navigation.

All models are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 210 bhp (156 kW) and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque. However, the $1495 Performance Package adds an additional 10 bhp (7 kW) as well as beefier brakes and a limited-slip differential.

Other notable options include a six-speed DSG transmission, a Dynamic Chassis Control system and a lighting package that adds Bi-Xenon headlights and LED daytime running lights.
