Ford has joined forces with Galpin Auto Sports for a luxurious Transit Skyliner concept programmed to be unveiled next week in New York.

The heavily customized van is Ford's way of proving how versatile the 2015 Transit is and this concept can be transformed into four modes: theater, business, reception and travel.

Theater mode features a huge 52-inch retractable Stewart movie screen with reclining seats for optimal viewing. Business has been configured with motorized tables and leather-trimmed seats, while in Reception mode the sliding door opens four feet wide and the seats are "arranged for easy entertaining while parked at an event." In travel mode, passengers have the possibility of adjusting the reclining seats and footrest.

The whole interior cabin has been integrated into a Creston automation system controllable via a smartphone or tablet. The entertainment system boasts a Focal Utopia 7.2 surround sound, KVH DIRECTV satellite and a Kaleidescape media server. To top it all off, there's also a built-in bar and matching custom luggage complementing the bespoke leather upholstery.

Built by Galpin Auto Sports, the Ford Transit Skyliner concept is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 EcoBoost engine and the exterior styling was developed by Ford of Europe's Design Studio in Dunton, UK.

Additional details can be found in the attached press release.
